A Different Kind of Demo at Google

Yesterday, Gendayo was meant to be presented at the Google × Antler Hackathon — a moment the team had been looking forward to.

But sometimes, life rearranges the schedule.

One of our own was called to another kind of duty — family — and that small, human moment became a quiet reminder of what this company stands for.

Building Gendayo has never just been about code or competition. It's about designing for real people, whose lives don't always follow clean timelines or perfect plans. That's the same reality we're building for — everyday life in motion.

The hackathon will have other rounds. The work continues — shaping, testing, and refining the vision for Africa's first AI-native mobility platform. What matters most is staying true to why we're doing this: to make movement simpler, safer, and more human.

Progress isn't only measured in prototypes or pitch decks.
Sometimes, it's measured in presence.

Next Steps

Our research team in Uganda is preparing to collect more on-the-ground insights about how people move through cities, and those stories will guide every line of design we write.

The next demo will come — and when it does, it will reflect both the technology and the humanity we're building for.
