This week marked the official kickoff of Antler Nordics' latest cohort — bringing together more than 150 entrepreneurs from across the region to build the next wave of global companies. Among them is Gendayo, a venture set on transforming urban mobility in Africa.
Why this matters
Transport is the lifeline of African cities. Yet for millions of riders and drivers, today's solutions mean unpredictable fares, unsafe journeys, and unfair economics.
Gendayo is being built to change that. From day one, our platform is AI-native, designed for Africa's realities: offline readiness, smarter matching, intelligent pricing, and built-in safety and trust.
Why Antler
Gendayo is currently being incubated inside Antler Nordics, one of the world's most active early-stage venture capital firms. Over the next few months, the venture will progress through Antler's structured residency — validating the model with riders and drivers, refining prototypes, and preparing for pre-seed investment.
What's ahead
- Field research and partnerships launching in Kampala, Uganda
- Prototypes focused on driver earnings, rider safety, and route optimization
- Building the founding team and global advisory network
The vision
This is the first step of a bold journey: to build Africa's first AI-native mobility platform with the scale, seriousness, and support to match the opportunity.
Our vision goes beyond ride-hailing. Gendayo aims to become the foundation for a trusted mobility ecosystem across African cities — one that:
- Empowers drivers with fairer economics, predictable earnings, and access to essential services
- Protects riders with transparent pricing, verified drivers, and advanced safety features
- Connects communities through smarter, AI-driven networks that reduce congestion, cut fuel waste, and improve daily transport
- Scales sustainably across diverse markets, from Kampala to Nairobi to Lagos, adapting to different infrastructure and cultural realities
Our mission is simple but ambitious: to make everyday transport across Africa safer, smarter, and fairer — unlocking millions of opportunities for economic growth and personal freedom.
Follow along as we share milestones from the Antler program and beyond.
